Much of what inspires me is the situations I see around me everyday. Some are just pet peeves that bloom into a story. Seeing others who are looking for hope, inspiration and answers inspires my poetry. Family situations from others and my own inspire me. A good deal of the time, it is my own personal struggles and how my faith helps me through those troubles that inspire.

The best adivse I have for aspiring writers is just to write and to not give up. Nothing is perfect the first time it is written. Practice at writing makes your writing better. Not everyone will like what you write no matter what you write, so don't get discouraged when negative comments come your way. Write about the things that you are passionate about that others can relate to.

I am just finishing up the second edition of One Night of Regrets. I wasn't quite happy with the results going through a publisher, so I decided to re-do the manuscript to get it the way I wanted it to be in the first place. This time I self published and am very please with the finished product. It should be releasing on Amazon in the next few days in soft cover format.

I usually walk away from the project for a short period of time and focus on spending time with my family. Sometimes, I start another project in a totally different area other than writing. This seems to clear my mind. It doesn't take long before I miss writing and then I get right back to the writing project.

When I was in the hospital several weeks last year I wrote most of the poems in Inspirational Poetry By Southern Chicks while relying on my faith.
