Anthony Hulse Good question. Sorry for taking so long to respond. My favourite character is Billy Woods in Insanity never Sleeps I+II. Yes, he becomes one of the most notorious serial killers in history, but as an ex-steelworker, we have similar backgrounds. He is actually likeable, which sort of scared me somewhat. My aim was for the reader to actually like this man, even though he was evil. I hope I achieved my goal. Most of my characters are based on real people. When I socailise, I watch people, but not in a creepy way. I have used countless friends in my books, but I never tell them who they are. It saddens me when I kill off a popular character, but I like to shock. Billy was part of my life for a while, and I worried that my fondness was not natural. Anyway, so far I have not butchered anyone... Not yet.
Anthony Hulse The same place I get most of my ideas...in bed. Yes, I sleep little and lie awake, dreaming up my storylines.
Anthony Hulse Writers always view their work with disdain on some days. Go back to it later and it will not seem too bad. Join a writing group and help will always be close by.
Anthony Hulse Since I opted for very early retirement, I have lots of spare time to write. I like the flexible hours.
Anthony Hulse I'm one of the fortunate ones who do no not suffer with writer's block. Luckily, the plot comes easy to me.
Anthony Hulse I'm currently rewriting and editing one of my old novels, Nurtured Evil. My publisher, who no longer trades, gave me permission for the project. I anticipate it will be published, possibly this week. I am also writing a contoversial book, which will hopefully be completed by Christmas.
Anthony Hulse When I worked at the steelworks, my new shift pattern meant I had lots of free time. I sat down one day and began to write. What inspired me? I have no heros in the literary world, so I guess my inspiration came from within.
