Matt Prentice On my winter reading list this year, I'm diving deep into some classic and influential cyberpunk and sci-fi: Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive by William Gibson, which continue the Neuromancer trilogy, and Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson for its iconic blend of virtual reality and dystopia. I'm also planning to immerse myself in The Expanse series—its rich world-building and complex characters are perfect for the long winter nights.
Matt Prentice I jacked into the neural feed to escape reality for a bit, but when I tried to log out, an error message appeared: ‘Primary User Account Already Active.’ My reflection in the monitor smiled, even though I hadn’t moved.
Matt Prentice The mystery in my life that could be a plot for a book is the journey of finding my own creative voice. For the longest time, I didn’t even realize I had stories inside me. Writing wasn’t something I always thought I’d do—it just crept up on me. It was like discovering a hidden ability, a piece of myself I hadn’t known existed. Looking back, I realize that the real mystery was how many paths I could have taken, but this was the one that called to me, even when I didn’t know it was there. How many other pieces of ourselves are we unaware of? That’s a question that fascinates me and continues to fuel my writing.
Matt Prentice If I could travel to any fictional book world, I'd choose Neon Veil, the gritty, neon-soaked city from Soul Diver. The city is a fascinating fusion of high-tech wonder and urban decay—a place where skyscrapers pulse with electric light, and the streets are alive with the hum of augmented reality, black-market cybernetics, and rebellion.

I'd want to dive right into the underbelly of Neon Veil, where secrets are traded like currency and the line between human and machine blurs. First, I'd visit NeoCrypt, a high-energy underground club known for clandestine deals and digital manipulation. I'd meet with a Grid Broker like Vika Serin, maybe even get some insider information to survive this city of intrigue. But the ultimate experience? I'd attempt a Soul Dive with Rax Echohawk, exploring the labyrinthine depths of another person’s mind, peeling back layers of memories to uncover hidden truths.

In Neon Veil, every alley whispers danger, every neon sign reflects a choice between freedom and control. I’d relish the challenge of navigating its web of tech and humanity, walking the razor’s edge of survival. There’s no place like it.
