Not Bound By Blood, my newest publication which went public just this week, was inspired by a lifelong friendship I've maintained with someone I met almost fifty-eight years ago. Despite the fact we've lived 2,000 miles apart for most of those years, each time we get together it's as if the distance disappears.

Over the years I've come to realize it takes more than inspiration to see a project to its completion. A regular routine, consistently seating myself at the computer no matter whether I feel inspired or not, and getting those words out of my mind and on the page all work together to keep me writing. If you don't write, there's nothing to build with. Words written can always be revised.

My current WIP is a narrative fiction for YR about Belle Boyd, A Confederate Spy. I chanced upon her story while researching for a previous project and just knew I had to tell the world about her adventurous life.

One of my greatest rewards as a member of the writing community is the hosts of other writers I've met through the years, all of whom have been most generous to help each other along the way.

I find it impossible to define my own style. I write about ordianry people experiencing extraordinary circumstances. My greatest satisfaction comes from writing something that both informs and entertains.

I've found for myself personally, there are two causes of writer's block. One is when life get so chaotic with dramatic events consuming my energy. The other is when I'm forcing a character or story in the wrong direction. That's when I draw back and allow my subconscious to figure out the solution.
