M.H. Altis Anywhere with magic and class systems that aren't messed up. I'd do all the things you can't do without magic.

Imaginative or complex? No. Truthful? Yes.

Oooh, and I'd ride a dragon, preferably.

This is the inner child coming out in me. Apologies in advance.
M.H. Altis The man in the bloodstained t-shirt and torn up jeans sat alone in the house, his chair the last piece of furniture left.

A hand on his shoulder caused a great release, a sigh from deep within his core, as he gripped it and wept.
M.H. Altis I'd first distinguish between plot and plot detail. There are mysteries in life great and small, and some make great little wrinkles, but could not sustain being the heartbeat of a story. Whereas others can stand on their own, with enough support.

There are also shared mysteries we as humans and living creatures question, but these are so shared as to be overdone and generic -- that is, unless you can approach these mysteries from a fresh angle and, and this is the most important part, inject parts of your own life and those around you into the story, to make it unique and real and worth reading.

It's mostly hubris to believe you can do something new with something old, but once in a while, someone is correct -- worth a shot, no?
