I am always inspired when I take a trip anywhere. It can be a day trip to the coast, a walk in the redwoods, a vacation with my family (I get to pick the really fun places) or a rambling drive with no destination in mind. It never fails that something with catch my eye...a doorknob, an odd shaped tree or even just a person I happen to see.

By people watching. I'll go and find the most packed park I can find and sit and watch people. It doesn't take long for one random remark from a stranger to get my creative juices flowing again.

No one thinks I'm odd if pick up an item at a street fair and say "Ivy would love this!" To me my characters are real, they live a very full and exciting life in my mind.

I have just completed Balance of the Three - The Ivy Chronicles 2 and have two other books in editing and a new one with close to 7 chapters written. All YA fantasy of course.

Since the new book coming out this week Balance of the Three is the second book in The Ivy Chronicles the ideas invaded my dreams after I finished the first book. It just took a bit of time to write them down.
