I often try on other characters, if I am blocked I can create a new character that will take me past the crunch. This character may be just a bit part or a twist, and in some cases may become as important as the protagonist, but I find that such a simple task takes me past the block.

Just sit and write, challenge yourself, commit yourself to Nanowrimo in the fall just to complete a book and see what you feel after. It is easy to begin but not always as easy to write an ending, make yourself do it one time and it takes away the awkwardness and fear.

I am currently working on two different novels, one a paranormal mystery with humorous overtones, and a pair of zany P.I.'s and the other while also a paranormal mystery, it is also a bit more serious and haunting.

I also read a great deal and do reviews for other authors and each time I finish a book I am inspired by the author. There are so many ways to use words to create stories I find myself ready to move forward on my own work.
