B.M. Polier That is a difficult question. A lot of my books are written out of the idea of wanting to be in them. Reniko is who I want to be, Riumi is who I am most like, and Viola is what I wish to become if I stopped writing.

I guess I would like to be in the world of Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. I would be like the shut in aunt, a house full of books from top to bottom, I would be like the father who can fix even the most damaged books and who can read things into and out of books.
B.M. Polier I don't believe in writer's block. I believe that sometimes there is a different story that wants to be written that gets in the way of the one you feel that you should be writing. In that case, stop trying to write the story you think you are supposed to be writing and just start writing the one that wants your attention. Once that one has been addressed, the other one will come back to you.
B.M. Polier There is a specific set of tones and lights that a person can use to access the creative centre of their brain. Knowing this, I found that specific tone in music I listen to and made a playlist. It's pretty easy to get inspiration when that part of your brain has been activated.
B.M. Polier Most if not all of my book ideas are from dreams I have had.
