Hi, Shane. The Medierans are loosely based on the Spain in the 1800s, vying for control of the new lands of Occidentalia. They are a great naval power. In the course of these books - The Incorruptibles, Foreign Devils (complete), and Infernal Machines - we see more of them, but more as a global antagonist.
