Hi Shane--I'm absolutely loving your "Reconsider Baby: Elvis Presley, A Listener's Guide". It's great to hear the perspective on Presley's music from a fellow gay man. Question: the 50th anniversary edition of the '68 special claims to be complete, but I've noticed a couple of songs missing (Little Less Conversation, for one). Do you have a recommended edition of this milestone performance?

Shane Brown Hi. I'm really sorry for coming to this question two years late - Goodreads has only just flagged it to me! To be honest, I don't think any version is perfect - as is the case for most Elvis releases! Musically (on audio), I think the 2018 is the nearest to being complete - except for two or three songs. Oddly, the 2008 release DOES have ALLCg on it, and it's that edition I generally use when I want to listen to a full stand up or sit down show - not because it's complete, but because it has most of what I want on it. But for the most part I still go back to the early 1990s extended version of the original LP, with eight or nine extra songs, as it feels to me to be in the spirit of the original album and I rarely want or listen to absolutely everything. Anyway, sorry for not seeing this earlier.
