I love A Momentary Marriage, if fact I just finished reading it for the third time 😊. I was wondering if you were going to write about Claude? For some reason he interests me to no end, I even make up stories for him in my own head, lol. You have no doubt heard this multiple times, but I love your writing and appreciate that when I'm reading I don't get pulled out of the story by historical inaccuracies.
Candace Camp Thank you so much! Trust me, I never get tired of hearing that people enjoy my book! I love A Momentary Marriage as well, and I plan to write a book about Claude. I became very interested in him while I was writing James' story, and I would really like to give him a happy ending, as well! I'm not sure when that will be, as I have a couple of other books I'm committed to, but I'm definitely putting that idea in the back of my mind to percolate.

I am trying to find a book where the Hero and Heroine are in a hot air balloon ride by accident and come down in the countryside. I feel that this is one of your books but I can't figure out which one. Am I on the right track? Thank you

Candace Camp Summer's pretty much over, but I always have a reading list. Right now I have these books in my TBR stack: What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon; When We Left Cuba by Chanel Cleeton; Vendetta in Death by J.D. Robb; The Trials of Apollo: The Tyrant's Tomb; Boundary Broken by Melissa F Olson; Duchess by Deception by Marie Force; Highland Pursuits by Emmanuel de Maupassant; and a re-read of Mistwood by Leah Cypress

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Candace Camp My most recent release, Before the Dawn, is set during World War II, which has always been a period that interested me. Several years ago, I read a book detailing some of the British espionage activities, which had been kept secret for many years after the war. I found it a fascinating subject---the idea of a band of amateurs setting up in a country estate to outwit the enemy, the extraordinary courage of those fighting behind the lines in Occupied France, the sacrifices and hard decisions, and the participation of women in these dangerous endeavors. I knew I had to write a book set in that time and place.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Candace Camp The best thing is having a job that I enjoy doing. I love writing stories, and I have always written a lot. So it's great to get paid for doing it. Second to that are the perks of being self-employed--setting my own hours, not having to commute, peace and quiet.
