Great question! I'm what's known as a hybrid author, where I write for several traditional publishers and also do indie. I haven't counted for a while, but probably half of my 50-book catalogue is traditionally published and half indie. My first three books were published by Sourcebooks a little before the indie revolution really blew up, and even after that, I wasn't interested in taking on the added burden of hiring editors and cover designers and shepherding my books to publication. Something switched right around the time Montlake published the sixth book I wrote for them. I'd expected to be writing another 85k-word book but they wanted a much shorter novella (GOING UP) and paid me the same either way, so I wound up with a couple open months in my schedule and thought "why not?" An indie author pal (Kait Nolan) held my hand an showed me the ropes of the self-pub world and STUDMUFFIN SANTA is the result of that. I was instantly hooked! After years in the trad pub world, it was nice to suddenly have some say in my publishing schedule and if a book didn't perform the way I wanted, I controlled things like marketing and cover art so I could switch things up as needed.
Would I have wanted to start right off as an indie author? Probably not. All the publishers I've written for have brought something to the table that I couldn't have done for myself, whether that's generous distribution to bookstores and libraries, or access to editors and promotions that pivoted my career in different directions.
All that to say, there are pluses and minuses to both trad and indie. Thanks for reading!

Natali,
Ha! I would love to see Dax's brother end up with someone, but it won't be Sarah. She's paired up with her college BFF, Ian (a guy she made a marriage pact with one tipsy college evening). Their story is called THE LAST and is coming out January 2019.

Awww, thanks so much! Sorry for the delay -- I actually just learned this feature existed on Goodreads. Go figure!
I don't currently have any plans to write a follow up to About that Fling. However, I have two more books contracted with Montlake Romance, and I think you'll find they're both a lot more similar to About that Fling than anything else I've written. Let it Breathe comes out in March, and it definitely has some of those darker undertones like About that Fling. Same goes for the book that comes out in September (working title is Spice of Life, but that may change). All of those books deal with tricky issues like divorce or alcoholism or infidelity or death or.....er, this isn't sounding like romantic comedy, is it?!
That's actually what I love about writing these kinds of books. I get to pick a tough subject (or multiple tough subjects) and find ways to discover the humor in and around it.
Thanks for reading, and have a great week!

Awww, thanks so much for the kind words! At this time, I don't have any plans to write a follow-up to ABOUT THAT FLING. However, you'll see little references to the settings in each of the books I write for Montlake. For instance, in NOW THAT IT'S YOU (which comes out in September 2016) the opening scene takes place at the same hospital that serves as the setting for ABOUT THAT FLING. There are no encore appearances from any of the characters, but I think you'll find a lot of similarities in the tone of the stories. Thanks for reading, and for the kind words about my stories!

Hey there! I'm so glad you enjoyed The Fix Up. Miriam's story comes next in the series, and I'm having a fun time writing it. I'm actually not certain yet what the third book in the series will be, so if Parker's story starts percolating in the back of my brain, that may be it. Thanks for the interest, and happy reading!
