My first book will almost certainly be my last. I'm focused on getting the word out on this book. My daughters and my wife helped edit it, and my oldest daughter did the cover and the typesetting. It was a joy to have them involved.

I just keep plodding along, sometimes putting placeholder text with a note to revisit it for expansion or clean-up.

I enjoy the creative process. I could never write fiction, as decades of striving to be pithy in the workplace would result in a five-page novel. But the challenge of writing clearly and concisely and turning a good phrase is fun.

Just do it. Find some time. Have a good app to record your notes as you think of them. I never write from beginning to end; I put pieces together and then continually edit them.

It helps if you have multiple editors. My youngest daughter did an outstanding job with a first batch of edits before I had a professional go through it. My wife and a couple other friends suggested edits and raised good questions about themes and consistency.

I came up with the theme back in the 90s, then refined it over the years. My life was incredibly busy and challenging at the time, and I wanted to have a wise approach to temporal and eternal success without sacrificing the wrong things. Since it worked out so well for me and my family, I decided to write a book about it.
