I'm not sure what space station you're referring to? Can you clarify?

Hi Andy, That's a tough one! As a kid, Copperfield and Henning were obviously a big deal. But as a kid magician, I studied a lot of Dia Vernon, Slydini and John Kennedy. Although, meeting Banachek in college was a game changer for me.
Favorite trick is hard too. I'm by no means a card guy, but I've been obsessed with the haunted deck since I was a kid. I've been a mentalist since college, and not performing professionally anymore, these days I focus on prop less mentalism. I've adapted a lot of material from the likes of Peter Turner and Pheldon Beck.

Hi Jonathan. That's my favorite question because the answer is Sophie. I was working on two completely different comic strip ideas at the time. Didn't care for either one, or at least not enough to make them long term. Looked over at Sophie (she was about 12 weeks at the time) and Whamo! The idea hit me. All of it all at once. The title, the characters and of course Sophie.

A field trip. Yep, trudging along with a bunch of fourth graders through a historical village is a great way to get new ideas. Last week I visited "Old Salem" in N.C. with my son's class. Half the day I chaperoned. The other half, the kids went on a private tour so I had a few hours to grab some coffee, take photos and paint.
Now I wasn't trying to come up with ideas, but as I sketched a few buildings ideas started to spark. By the end of the day I had a tired kid, a piece of authentic rum cake (judging by the taste, it might have been an original piece) and concepts for two picture books. We'll see what happens.

Both. The Prince's New Pet came from a drawing in my portfolio from years ago. It just sat until one day the story sprung out of it. Usually I'm doodling and writing at the same time.

I'm writing a series called "The Conjurers". A story about the secret world of magicians. I've been a magician since second grade and knew early on I wouldn't perform magic for a living. Still, magic held some key to my future plans. That ended up being this series.

Keep writing. Keep doodling. I never stare at a blank page. You can feel that moment when your mind seizes up. That's the time to keep pushing. I remind myself I don't have to write or draw anything worth using, I just have to keep the fingers moving.
