When I'm stumped, I play the "what if" game and think of odd scenarios and what would happen in each. That usually helps get my creativity flowing.

Ooh, that's a tough one. I think I'll have to go with Patch and Nora from the Hush, Hush series. I love them and how they battle so much to be together. Even though the series has been out for quite a while, Patch and Nora continue to have a special place in my heart.

Sometimes when I get stuck in a manuscript I jump ahead. Skipping ahead to the climax or even the ending will get me excited about a story again, and I find it easier to go back and write the part that was tripping me up earlier. Everyone is different though. Perhaps you need to step away or work on something else until the story calls you back. I'd try different things to find what works for you. Good luck! :)

Hi, Shelley.
It's a duology—just The Monster Within and The Darkness Within. Thank you so much for reading the books.

Fiona, the series was pulled and put back together as one book, as it was originally mean to be. It's also published under my pen name, Ashelyn Drake. The book is title Perfect For You. You can find it on Amazon, B&N, etc. :)

Shay, when this happens to me, I jump ahead in the story. Skip the part that's tripping you up and move on. Once you're past that part, you'll be able to go back and write it. Sometimes jumping around is what the brain needs to find those words again. I've even gone as far ahead as the climax because it's exciting to write and makes me fall in love with the story all over again.
I hope that helps!

No, I haven't read that one. Is it good?

I've only read one of the books, and it's very different than the TV series. Some characters were changed/combined for the TV series. I definitely enjoyed the book though. Having said that, I didn't follow through with the series. There are just too many books on my TBR list right now and since I watch the TV series, I kind of let reading the books slide.

I liked it better in the beginning. Certain characters have changed recently and I'm not all that happy about that.

I love creativity of being a writer, but I also love interacting with my readers.

Read as much as possible. Reading is the best (and most fun) form of research. It also supports the industry, which is very important.
