This has always allowed me to overcome writer's block. When writing, it should feel like a flowing river or stream as the story comes out of you. If you feel that what you are doing is hard, that is when you stop writing and study.
Steven R. Burke The best part about being an author is the chance to be creative. In life, there are a lot of rules and guidelines we are compelled to follow. When I write, I create and control the rules of my world. I am then able to explore situations and questions in my own environment in a way that is still relatable to the real world.
Steven R. Burke My inspiration comes from the world around me. Movies, other books, and nature itself help to inspire me to write. One of the major inspirations for my characters come from interactions I have with others or ones that I observe. This is how I build my characters is through the rich interactions between people.
Steven R. Burke Take the criticism as an opportunity to improve. Many online folks tend to be a lot more vicious, however, there could be grains of helpful feedback if you ignore the personal attacks. Those are more about them than you. Focus on getting your story on paper or in an electronic format.
Steven R. Burke I have recently worked on refining the first three books. I have started work on the fourth novel and I hope to have it out first thing next year.
