?Not a question — I just wanted to let you know that I just read your short story Exhalation #10, and it made me feel things I didn’t even know I had in me. I’ve been in a reading slump for such a long time that I had almost forgotten what it’s like to read a story with your whole being. Your story reminded me just how important stories are in my life. And I wanted to thank you for that!

What made you want to tell the stories of what happened after Peter Pan? Have you ever considered expanding upon the "after happily ever after" for other common fairy stories/tales?
A.C. Wise Hi, Meg! I've always felt that the Peter Pan story had dark undercurrents and I was interested in exploring those and bringing them to the surface. I also really liked the idea of Wendy as a mother going on an adventure, as portal fantasies - the original Peter Pan included - tend to focus on children having adventures and parents being left behind to worry off the page. Those were two of the big reasons that I wanted to re-tell and re-imagine the story. As for other classic stories and fairy tales - maybe! I've written some short fiction that reimagines fairy tales and other classics, but at the moment I have no immediate plans for something novel length. That's not to say I won't do something like that in the future!
