The sequel to my debut novel, Silverskin! It doesn't have a title yet, but I hope to have a first draft (and some title ideas, at least) by the end of 2023.

Being a writer has changed how I see other people. Everyone has a story. Everyone has strengths, weaknesses, and challenges. People are so complex and interesting, even (and maybe especially) the ones you'd never notice if they were in a crowded room. Writing has made me more compassionate and expanded my capacity to feel empathy.

I don't have time for writer's block. For those precious few hours after the kids go to bed, it's do or die. If I get words on the page, then I have something to work with, even if it starts out straight-up bad (and that happens more often than you'd probably think!)

As of answering this, summer's almost over! But I'll tell you what I did read, and what I intend to keep reading. I've had a couple very busy years full of things like, you know, getting married, finishing college, moving, starting and running a family business, having kids...
TLDR: I haven't had a lot of time to read. So now I'm playing catchup.
Books I read this summer include Ember In The Ashes (series), ACOTAR (I made it halfway through ACOWAR and lost interest. I tried. I really did.), Tress of the Emerald Sea, Phased, Fourth Wing, Six of Crows, Dune, and I'm STILL working my way through Les Miserables.
I don't read quickly because I spend most of my time chasing my toddlers. And when they nap, I'm busy writing! But the best thing any author can do is read, so I always have a book on hand or on my phone and try to sneak in a chapter or two a day.
