I felt I needed to update the Ben Pecos series--include what's happening today so the book starts with an elementary school shooting.

I love twisty, unusual plot lines . . . so, if someone shares a story that gives credence to "fact is stranger than fiction", I usually can't resist. For example, Palm Coast, where I live, is famous for being a mafia safe haven, home to witness protection programs. The stories are true and hysterical--I had to use them in Hair of the Dog.

I literally, just yesterday, typed "The End" on a manuscript!! Oh, what a feeling!! AND, I like this book!! I've brought Ben Pecos to Florida and given him a doozy of a mystery to solve in Under A Mulberry Moon--the Creek Indian name for the full moon in May. Watch for it! It should be out in September or early October.

I never end a scene when quitting for the day--I stop in the middle so that I know exactly where and how I'll pick up the story in the morning. That way no time is wasted by "getting started"--wondering what goes next. I hit the ground already running.
