If you self-publish, don't expect to make money from your stories, and be aware of self-publishing companies asking you for exorbitant amounts of money so that they carry out marketing for you with no guaranteed return on that investment.

Don't try so hard. Go away and do something correctly different. I usually get inspiration when I open my eyes first thing, and then I have to put down those thoughts (usually in shorthant) before I forget them!

The idea for my most recent book 'A Ticket to Cusco - The Land of the Inca' came to me as we travelled around Peru and Ecuador with a group of tourists and were introduced to its history and culture. On hearing about its colourful past, images were conjured up in my mind of what would Peru be like today if the Inca had survived the decimation carried out by Spanish invaders.
