I don't know. It just came as a little glimmer. Just one scene. Just one thought. Then, I had to play the "what if" game, and develop the story from that one thought.
Believe me, I wish I knew where my story ideas were stored. I'd go there whenever I needed inspiration. But I don't know where that place is.

Oh, that's a hard question! There are several "bests" about being a writer. a) Readers - I love hearing from them b) The ability to create c) the ability to do what I love to do. d) Everything else I forgot. Writing is the best of all worlds!

I know that many would disagree with this, but I don't think there's such a thing as writer's block. I think when we sit down to write and we struggle, we've taken a wrong turn in our story, or we've forgotten an element that our inner voice is telling us must be added.
When I have trouble, I rely on my writer friends to help me out. When I can't see the forest for the trees, I have to rely on them to see my forest and point it out to me.

I'm laughing as I answer this because I'm not inspired to write. I'm driven to write! I'm a compulsive reader, as well as a compulsive writer. There's nothing I enjoy more than creating characters, their worlds, and the events or people who want to destroy their worlds.

I'm working on book 3 in my Cast in... series. Book 1 is Cast in Shadows. Book 2 is Cast in Darkness. Book 3 is Cast in Forever. Cast in Shadows is about the heir to a dukedom who suffers from seizures - the same seizures from which his mother suffered. Except while he's confined in an asylum, he not only learns to love, but he learns that it might be possible to escape the sickness that destroyed his mother - and threatens to destroy him.
