Hi Anna, I loved your series of After. Such a talent for someone so young. It is not easy to develop characters like Hardin and Tessa with such insight. Well done! The continual flow of your writing was a pleasure to read. My one disappointment is that you didn't give them a wedding!! I was so looking forward to it! This would of been a book in itself!! Could you possibly do it or is it too late?

I've read a bunch of hate messages about After. I was so furious at them!!!How do you not get discouraged by them?

Anna Todd I just ignore it really. They are entitled to an opinion, and I can choose to react or not, I'd rather not :)

Have you ever thought of writing the After story that Hardin wrote about him and Tessa, either on Wattpad or as an actual book? I know you put parts of it at the beginning of the chapters in Before but are you ever going to write the whole thing?

Anna Todd I'm still deciding this! I'm writing pieces of it just for my own, but maybe I will publish them after I publish Before.

Probably I am not the only one trying to write a book, and we fail at it, sometimes we are in all of our glory because of something we wrote in our projects, but can you tell us, what is your most important tip for beginners in writing YA and not only? Thank you!

Anna Todd I would say to start with using social media to promote yourself. Having an instagram account and using hashtags helps so much. It sounds silly, but things spread like wildfire online and that's a lot of what happened to me. I would say to post on a platform like Wattpad (there are others, I just don't have any experience with them) Even if you aren't planning on posting the entire story there, you can get feedback and build an audience! Good luck!

I've never really understood how Hessa manage to live their own lives for a year or so without dating others. Can you maybe explain how that was possible? Like I'd expect Tessa to date Robert or Hardin to meet some girl and mess around with her? They started drifting off with the whole distance issue!

Anna Todd The main reason why neither of them dated anyone else was that they both had a lot of work to do within themselves before they could worry about that. Hardin needed a lot of help and Tessa needed to grow up.

When did you first fall in love with writing and reading?

Anna Todd I can't even remember hah. I would say around fourth grade for reading but it grew so much more when I was in high school. I loved writing but not on this level either!

Did you ever plan the books, or did you just wrote as you went along? And who is your favorite character in all three books?

Anna Todd I planned somewhat. As the series went on I did a little more planning but mostly I was writing as a reader and I was very unaware of things like structure and plot holes etc.
My favorite character is Hardin!

What is your favorite book and why?

Anna Todd Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare is my favorite book. It's very hard to choose just one but this book was incredible and had me sobbing and cheering and laughing. I highly recommend it!

How is it that you deal with hate? There's is so many times when i want to respond to those haters who just tweet you horrible things but then i think better and don't. So how is it that you deal with it? Does it sometimes affect you?

Anna Todd Every once in a while it does but mostly no. The thing is that I have to realize that when people are that hateful and negative online, something is more than likely going on in their lives at home/school and I would much rather them say those nasty things to me than someone else.
