Ken McClure Believe in yourself and develop a thick skin. Don't take rejection by publishers to heart. None of them like taking risks and taking on a new, unknown writer is a big risk. It's much safer for them to turn you down than to say yes. That way they keep their job and they can go on looking for something successful to copy.
Ken McClure I've given up on UK publishers. I've spent the last year converting all my titles to a wide range of E-book formats seeing this as the way ahead.

All books in the Dr Steven Dunbar series are currently under TV option so that may play a part in future plans.
Ken McClure I'm not sure if it can be called inspiration. It's more usually a case of being angry about something. Government duplicity features prominently!
Ken McClure I tend to base my books on facts - i.e. I graft fiction on to fact. In practice I will come across some little known medical or scientific fact and imagine the worst possible scenario arising from this and write the book.

With THE SECRET I was puzzled as to why Polio was still endemic in certain areas of the world when strenuous efforts had been made to eradicate it. I discovered that the vaccination schedule in one of the worst areas - the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan - had been damaged by the insertion of fake vaccination teams put in by the CIA to gather intelligence.
