Sheila Chandra For non-fiction, get clear on your subject, angle and tone. Who is going to read your book? What do they need to know and why? And what kind of tone/format will help them absorb it best? And structure the information logically so it's easy to find.
Sheila Chandra I really enjoy the writing process once the outline is done. And I like being helpful to my readers.
Sheila Chandra For me, writer's block is usually a symptom of overwork and not enough creative play. Or that my book concept isn't quite ripe enough.
