Boyd Norton
As both a photographer and a writer, for the past 50 years I have played a key role in working to save a number of threatened places around the world, from Alaska to Siberia and Serengeti to the Amazon rain forest. A lot of that work entailed the use of my photography and so it seemed logical to do a book on Conservation Photography to encourage others to use their photography for saving places. That one was published by Amherst Media in 2016.

Currently I have two memoirs in the hands of my agent: TICKLING THE DRAGON'S TAIL: HOW I ONCE BLEW UP A NUCLEAR REACTOR AND WENT ON TO SAVE THE WORLD'S WILD PLACES; and INTO THE BOONDOCKS: FROM NEUTRONS TO HEADHUNTERS. Also have one novel completed: PERFECT MONEY, a humorous counterfeiting caper. And finally, my current publisher has asked me to do a 2nd edition of my recent book, CONSERVATION PHOTOGRAPHY HANDBOOK: HOW TO SAVE THE WORLD ONE PHOTO AT A TIME.

If I'm struggling, sometimes I go off on another project. I usually have three or more writing projects going on at the same time. Switching subjects sometimes helps. Also, I often grab one of my favorite authors' books and just relax and enjoy the author's wonderful use of language and metaphor. And finally, sometimes in conjunction with all the above, a good long walk in the woods is helpful.
