My main publisher, The Wild Rose Press, announced a new series called Lobster Cove, and mentioned that a story could involve a spy. I instantly thought of the War of 1812 in America and pictured a spy with amnesia who didn't know if he was English or American. I threw in a lonely, beautiful widow who saves him, and voila!

Watching historical movies such as anything by Jane Austen or a good romance! The urge to write sometimes builds slowly in me until I am practically itching to get to my laptop and finish a chapter.

Several projects in the works, but mainly a 3 book series involving 3 very different Regency English heroines who have broken every rule of the ton and can still find love! Also, across the pond, I'm working on a re-release of my first book, Tame The Wild Wind, with a new cover and a new opening and epilogue I think readers will enjoy. With that book, an American Western historical romance, I'm also working on 2 sequels.

Join a writing group particular to your genre. Subscribe to writing craft blogs and magazines and read everything you can about the industry. Remember that you are creating a product for people to purchase - so write something that people want to read! And be original - don't re-write your journal and call it a novel.

I get to live in my fantasy world! I've been a daydreamer all my life, and writing was a way of getting those dreams out of my head and sharing them with other like-minded readers!

Whenever I'm stuck on a scene, I'll work on another novel in progress! I go back and forth sometimes, and that helps me stick to my writing goals for the day. Or, I'll do research or read a craft article or blog. If you have writer's block, it's ok to step away for an hour or so and let your imagination have a chance to breathe.
