I like to tell stories; for my non-fiction books listed, stories based on my own experiences, for my next book, I want to write a story based on an old family story. This latter idea came to me when I visited the ruins of the house where my great grandmother (the author of a notebook of family stories) lived in Ireland.

Ramblin' Boy began when I typed out a stack of letters I had saved for about 50 years, letters from a friend who died in 1972. I was planning to give them to his brothers, but so many memories came back that I began filling in between the letters, and soon it turned into a book manuscript.
