I'm always absorbing ideas. I keep lists of stuff I think is interesting and all sorts of internet flotsam on Evernote. When I look back over it all the ideas cohere into groups. So I don't usually have one idea - I have many ideas that interlace.

People are always asking me what inspires me and where I get my ideas. The answer is: From everything I’ve ever lived, seen, heard or read. The things that recur for me are that people can be scary, life can be violent, the world is an incredibly beautiful assault on the senses and all of us just want to work out who we are and how to connect.
