Daniel M. Kimmel If you mean why do I write at all, I've been writing things for others to read almost since I learned how to write. My first published piece was at age 6 in the school annual. It consisted of three lines on "my favorite day of the week."

If you mean what inspires me to write something new (other than things done on assignment, like my movie reviews), I addressed that in a recent blog post: https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...
Daniel M. Kimmel Since I go from one book to the next I don't really have a list. Currently reading Nat Segaloff's "A Lit Fuse," a biography of Harlan Ellison. So next I'll read some fiction or maybe something political or historical as a change of pace. Some books (like this one) I dive right into. Others I can hold onto for months or years before getting to, but I don't plan it in advance.
Daniel M. Kimmel Don't know that I have a "favorite" couple. My favorite movie is "Annie Hall" so I suppose Alvy and Annie would be an appropriate response, particularly since they struggle to make it work and can't quite do it and yet up as friends.
