The idea for Vital Temptations came about from a number of experiences: personal and professional. Relationships are common for each of us, so are temptations, and the struggle to balance those relationships and our careers, without having to choose one or the other. As a behavioral health nurse, I also have the opportunity to work with a number/variety of patients regarding their relationship issues, which sparks ideas as well.

I get inspired from life itself, literally. Every experience is an opportunity to write, rather it's personal experience, someone else's experience, or life/world experiences. My mind is always awake, even when I sleep.

Read everything, work hard, write hard, write everyday, stay focused and don't let anyone deter you from your dream. When you feel like you want to give up, work even harder. Don't forget to do your research on all aspects of writing/publishing. Lastly, don't be afraid to fail, just go for it!

Being able to explore, imagine, dream, and create a craft of my very own work. Getting lost in the moment. To look back and think...wow, I did that!
And of course meeting and sharing with like-minded individuals.

One thing I've learned to combat writer's block, is to read, read, read, and read in the genre I'm writing about. This seems to always get me back on track and get my mind back in motion. I've also learned to give myself a set time to write for a certain amount of time. Music also helps at times.

I am currently working on a follow up novel to Vital Temptations, which delves into Danielle's life (the best friend of Bethany-main character in VT), and marketing/promoting VT.
