Hi Janis, You won the BNZ Mansfield Award in 2001 for "Mill." I'm trying to find out who won in 2000 and 2002. I know it has been awhile but do you remember? Thank you. Noah
Janis Freegard Hi Noah, the award was every second year during that time so there were no winners in 2000 or 2002. The person who won before me was Rhonda Bartle. Later it became an annual competition. Cheers, Janis 😀

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Janis Freegard I like to work on several things at once, such as a poetry collection, a short story and a novel. If I feel I'm getting stuck on one thing, I move on to something else. Also I write to-do lists and chapter plans, so I can refer to something that gives me a prompt for what to do next.
