F.C. Shaw Fitting a writing routine into everyday life! As a stay at home mom to my two little boys, there are plenty of things that keep me busy. And there are plenty of things to suck my energy! Writing takes time and energy, which can be hard to come by for me these days with a 4 yr old and almost 1 yr old. But just like anything else, writing is important so I find time and energy for it.
F.C. Shaw Yes! Sherlock Academy will be a five book series. The third book will be out next year
F.C. Shaw I am a huge Sherlockian, and I wanted to introduce Holmes to young readers in hopes of creating a new generation of Sherlockians. When I was a kid I always wanted to be a detective like Holmes and wished there was a school I could attend that would teach me all that.
F.C. Shaw I get inspired by the things and people who I love. I had a very magical childhood, particularly my elementary years, and I write from that place.
F.C. Shaw My publisher just picked up a middle grade fantasy I wrote about a boy who races in a magic carpet race to save his brother's life
F.C. Shaw Write! And write. And write some more. Take your writing seriously and invest time and money in it like you would any other career or hobby. Own it
F.C. Shaw Writing allows me to pretend play in my imagination. It's so much fun to create my characters, what they'll do, etc and I get to play in my imagination all day!
F.C. Shaw I go with it. I've learned for myself that my block never lasts long and when I have it it's no good to force my creativity. When it passes my creativity kicks in full force, and I go with that too
