Will there be a 7th Pinx Video Mysteries book?

Are you finished with the Pinx Video series? I’d really would like tall, dark and menacing to have a hea.

Marshall Thornton I am not finished with the series. The sixth book will be out next month or maybe July... we'll have to see. Things are not going well for Javier O'Shea.

Marshall Thornton There will be another Pinx Video, probably in the fall. I'm planning to start the next Dom Reilly book in about a month, so that should come out late spring. Thanks for asking!

Dear Marshall Thornton, have you considered writing a series that would document Covid-19 in the same way that Boystown did HIV? Later books in the series would be written almost in real time:D

Marshall Thornton That's an interesting question. I haven't, which doesn't mean I won't. But I do think I'll let some time go by. I have made comparisons in my personal life between Covid and HIV. They are quite different, but I think for many of us living in a world with HIV informs our experience of Covid. I do think that they lack of literature that covers the Spanish Flu (and other pandemics) was a mistake. We lavish attention on the wars of the 20th century but tend to avoid the pandemics (HIV included.) That I think is a mistake we should never make again.

Hello! Will Danny be back in future Dom Reilly books? From the little we have seen of him so far, he seems to be such a compelling character. Things were sure rough for him. Also, "The year of the rat " was such a fantastic read!

Marshall Thornton Hi! I'm glad you liked the book. I'm not sure if Danny will be back or not. Characters often pop back when I least expect it. Brian - who's in the very first Boystown story I wrote was never intended to be a recurring character... so I guess we'll have to wait and see if Danny makes another appearance.

Dear Marshall Thortnton, " The Less Than Spectacular Times of Henry Milch" is absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for this book! With Boystown set in 80s, Pinx Mystery in the 90s and Henry's books in the 00s, do you have any plans on a series set in the 70s or possibly the 2010s?

Marshall Thornton I missed this... sorry. I have a book set in the 70s. It's call Desert Run. It's a little soon for the 2010s... we'll see in about ten years.

Hi! I absolutely adore your Boystown and Pinx video mystery series! I can easily call you my favorite author in this genre, and Nick is definitely one of my absolute favorite fictional characters ever! My question is - do you have any ideas when the next Boystown is coming out? And do you have any plans to start any more series?

Marshall Thornton Hi - sorry it's taken so long. I don't spend much time on Goodreads. I think Boystown: Fade Out will be out in February of 2020.

Hi Marshall, I was looking for the prequel Little Boy Afraid, but the instafreebie.com link leads to an error page it say Instafreebie is now Prolific Works and there is no book download. Have you relisted it somewhere else? Thanks, :) Laurie

Marshall Thornton Sorry, I didn't see this. Not here much. I have pulled the book from Prolific Works. I did not know it was still listed. I've been planning to put it up on Amazon ... but I haven't been sure whether to put it with Little Boy Dead or alone... (I also have a facebook author group where I answer questions much more quickly) :)

I'll make a decision this week and get put it out there.

I agree. I don't know why so many gay writers limit books for a series to 5 or 6? Word is there is going to be a new Harry Potter seems JK Rowling has changed her mind. I don't see why they can't come in a year or two and have their wonderful characters get into trouble again.

Marshall Thornton I read that the new Harry Potter book is not actually by Rowling. It's actually a stage play which she's approved.

Hey Marshall, I was wondering if you have a release date for the Audiobook to the The Lies That Bind? Boystown has been an Audiobook series for me because the narrator Brad Langer really captures the entire world of Nick brilliantly. I simply can't text-to-speech this book :) Thank you, Paul

Marshall Thornton I wish I had a better answer for you, but at the moment I have no plans to put Boystown 8 (or Boystown 7) on audio. Audible (Amazon) offered incentives on the first 5 books. For the sixth book I paid Brad's full fee. Unfortunately, it's not cost effective. If you'd like to contact Audible and ask them when the books will be available it might move them to offer the incentive again.

I've considered using a less expensive narrator but I don't think the fans would like that, nor would I.

Do you have any plans to finish the Boystown series? I'm enjoying what I have read so far!

Marshall Thornton Hi, just saw this question... Boystown 8: The Lies That Bind will be out February 25th. I have notes and ideas for 9 and 10. At some point, I imagine I will finish... but I don't know when that will be. Michael Connelly has done 20 Bosch books and Sue Grafton is doing 26 Kinsey Milhone... so, who knows. :)

Hey Marshall, some friends and I were discussing our love of the Boystown audiobooks. Any idea when #7 will be coming out? Thanks! :)

Marshall Thornton I wish I had a better answer for you... as with many Amazon programs (Audible is an Amazon company) the terms are very favorable at the beginning when they need product and become unfavorable over time. Originally, they offered incentives to the narrators which made it possible for me to do the first five books. I did pay the narrator myself for the sixth book but I'm no where near recouping that money.

You might want to complain to Audible that it's not available. It might motivate them to offer the incentive again, in which case, I'd jump on it.
