My favorite couple in literature is Jane Eyre & Mr. Rochester. I love their dialogue and mature discussions about love and life. While dated, since that is a time where divorce is taboo, I still love that how one lived mattered.
From my novels, my favorite couple is Mandy and Peter from Heart of Africa. I wanted a couple who could grow in appreication of one another and recognize strength. My second favorite is Nicole & Justin from my Under a Desert Sky. I can see now that I much prefer women who are not wimps and can 'rescue' themselves.

Hi there: Yes. I lived in South Africa for ten years and took about 20 trips to Kruger. It was on one such trip that I came up with the idea for this book. I had always been fascinated by the flora/fauna of the region and kept a journal of things I viewed. The elephant trampling was, in part, from an actual news article of a woman seeking to cross Kruger.

After many visits to the amazing Kruger Park, I felt I just had to write a romantic adventure that highlighted the beautiful flora & fauna of Southern Africa, but also captures the strength of its heroine.

I live in beautiful Oregon, and I find the peace and beauty to be very inspiring. Also, having lived overseas for years has added flavor and inspiration to this wonderful job.

My latest romantic adventure release, 'Heart of Africa' due out in October, 2014. It's about a young woman, who with her new found love, becomes lost in the African bush. I loved writing it!

It took a great deal of practice when I learned to ride a bicycle. Writing is like that-practice, practice, practice! Also, to be a good writer you need to be well-read. Read EVERYTHING! Read, learn, practice, and perfect your craft!

LOL I actually posted that on Facebook in 2010, just after I began writing the book that was just published! In ALMOST those exact words. I believe my quote was, "I like being a writer. It gives legitimacy to my daydreams, plus I get to kill people I don't like and not go to jail."

I always keep at least one project on the 'back-burner' so I can switch gears and keep writing!
