Doris Willis My most recent book, A Woman of Salt, evolved out of a Bible lesson that I developed for a women's breakfast several years ago. The focus was on being a woman of salt. In the scripture in Matthew 5:13, Jesus affirmed who the disciples were - not who they were hoping to become. The disciples had to walk in their calling. The same is true for Christian women today. We are already the salt of the earth. We have the Holy Spirit to help us walk in that calling.
Doris Willis Since I was a teenager I have loved expressing my thoughts in written form. I wrote poems in high school and wrote a column for my high school news paper. Later I wanted to created lessons plans that the ladies who attended small group Bible studies could relate to in a more personal way. My goal is to encourage people to engage with the subject matter and find themselves in the pages.

Doris Willis Write about the things that interest you and find a way to make those things interesting and enriching for others so that they will want to read your work. Stay focused on your goal. Develop your own approach to ABT (Always Be Thinking) about how you want to develop your skills and your work.
Doris Willis I love telling the story! I write Bible studies. As a writer I try to think of how the story will get my readers engaged in study of lesson.
Doris Willis I get away from the writing for a while and do something else creative like working in the garden and getting my hands into the dirt, or designing seasonal accents for my home.
