Not actually my life, but I had a great uncle who was a driver for a bootlegger in MO. He was a handsome devil and charming.
Until he was in an accident running liquor and became a shell of his former self - he never married. There was talk about a great romance that fizzled due to the accident and I would love to write their story - I spoke to my uncle (nephew of the great uncle) about it and he wanted me to wait until my gran passed, as the story was upsetting to her.
The biggest mystery is how little my family members with first hand knowledge would cop to knowing lol - guess if I do tell the story, I'll have to make most of it up! :-)
