Catherine Chandler You do not need an MFA or any other degree in order to be a good writer. Read widely. Work hard at your craft. Find a mentor. Follow your bliss.

How do you get inspired to write?

Catherine Chandler My inspiration comes from any and all sources, at any time of the day or night. I am a blank slate.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Catherine Chandler I began writing a short series of sonnets based on characters who lived on my street when I was a child in Pennsylvania. This eventually grew to twenty-five. I then decided that Pointing Home would be based largely on my three homes: the United States, Canada, and Uruguay.
