Rene Natan Years back my husband and I suffered a break-in. One window was forced open; one of our figurines (a Christmas angle) was stolen. We never figured out the who or the why.
Rene Natan Years back, in one of our frequent trips to Mexico, my husband and I came in contact with a local travel agent who described the many concerns he had about the recruitment of very young girls for ill-identified jobs. These were minors placed by the parents in the hands of very unscrupulous people who would take them north of the border. “Some—actually many, I’m afraid—are caught in prostitution,” he confided to us with dismay, “and I often feel that the parents are aware of the situation.”

The mass media, with their programmes and articles on human trafficking (like the Minh Dang’s story) renewed my interest in this kind of prostitution.

I thought the subject would constitute a realistic background for my new fiction. I used the prostitution of minors only as a background, though; the story is still fiction, and portraits the fight of teenager Louis Saura against mobster Camilo Estorbar—and Louis wouldn’t make it without the help of a smart detective.

Rene Natan On a love story. Robert falls in love with a "mystery woman." He looks, and again looks for her. When he finally finds her, she is married to his brother...
Rene Natan When I was a little girl my house was destroyed, causing my parents to take us to live in the countryside; for a while we were short of everything, including toys. The change was paramount. This event inspired my story, many years later. I asked myself, ‘What if I had lost, not only my house and my toys, but also my parents?’ I would have been shuffled around--from foster to foster home. And then, ‘How would a little orphan, raised up to the school age in comfort, react to this tragic situation?’
This is how the persona of Tanya Caldwell was born.
