Laura Moher Thank you for asking/saying this, Karen! Your last sentence is exactly how I feel about it. Not a miscommunication trope because she was doing what she felt she needed to protect herself. Whenever Angus mentioned money, she told him truthfully that she was fine. Angus was wrong in his assumption that she was just being extremely independent. Being wrong isn't a miscommunication trope either. And finally, in that trope, miscommunication is often the only thing keeping a couple apart, but in THIS story, Angus's wrong assumption is the only thing that lets him think it might be okay to have a relationship with Rose. If he'd known how much money she had, he wouldn't have felt like he could hold up his end of the partnership. THANK you! :)
Laura Moher Don't worry about whether you're "too old" to do this thing.
You're not.
Laura Moher As of Jan. 20, 2024: My editor has just accepted Andi's story, Book 3 of the Galway series. Yay! Now I'm working with my agent on 1) a proposal for Galway book 4 (Sonya's story) and 2) a proposal for a new contemporary romance series about 3 estranged sisters and their cousin, all of whom are now back in their tiny hometown together for the first time in more than a decade.
