I have multiple projects on the go at any given time, so if one causes me problems I shift to another for a time.
The only time I had full writers block was many years ago and I broke through that by writing a 'rant' to the blank page.

In my own work - Mara Dacre and Fenris MacTire in Starfire - they are both exceptionally strong people who find a way to make it work despite of, or perhaps because of, the duties that bind them.
In other people's work to name the exact top of the list. That said Rhage and Mary from the Black Dagger Brotherhood come in the top 10 for me. I can understand her fight, the losses she's faced and the damage her illness has done to her body. Yet he loves her not despite her physical flaws but because he sees her true self, the beauty of her heart and soul - things that don't fade. He lifts her up, he doesn't drag her down and in doing so he finds his own healing.
