Kay Freeman Italy, to write the sequel to the book that will follow Other Worlds, the book I'm releasing in August.
Kay Freeman Take a break and recharge. Do something else, go to the movies, listen to music, take a walk, work out. This is all it takes to get started again. if it is more than that, it could be you are stuck with a difficult part in your story. This means you need to do some thinking or talk it out with a writing buddy.
Kay Freeman I'm planning on immersing myself in Vampire books, while burning I'll seek the dark kind of thing. TBR list includes: Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice, Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris, The Vampire Tapestry by Suzy McKee Chanas are but a few.
Kay Freeman I woke up. I discovered I was out of coffee.
Kay Freeman The book I'm writing now is called Leather Man. My grand-daughter asked for a "Leather Man" for Christmas. Since she is only fourteen, I knew it must mean something different than what I visualized. It turns out it's a multi-purpose tool. That simple two word phrase, got my mind going and in a week I had the basis of the plot and my two main characters fleshed out.
Kay Freeman I've always loved to read, write and draw, but got pulled into the visual arts at an early age. Since my mother wrote poetry, I didn't want to become involved in anything she did. I wanted my own thing. The older I got and the more I experienced in the world, the pull to write became stronger. Eventually, I gave into it and decided if I didn't explore it, I would regret it. Who wants to live with regrets?
Kay Freeman There is none, because if you are writer, nothing I can say is going to encourage you or dissuade you…you're going to do it, no matter what.
Kay Freeman Getting to know your characters and coming up with plot twists are my favorite parts. Third on the list is making something sound beautiful.
Kay Freeman When I was attending art school in Philadelphia, mob boss, Angelo Bruno's mistress lived downstairs in the same apartment as I did and stole bank checks delivered to me from a common mail table. Angelo did some hanky panky with my account, making phony deposits and withdrawing sums of money before the bank discovered it. The FBI got involved and the next thing I knew the FBI was using my apartment for surveillance. Eventually Angelo discovered this and was none too happy with me or my roommates. Months later as I was coming into the building and he was leaving, he apologized for causing me any trouble. Yeah, a mobster apologized to me.
Kay Freeman A book called Leather Man. It's about an art student and dog walker, Raven Rose. After the respected craft artist Ed Allen sees her mugged from his window the evening before and having lost his wife to a vicious attack seven years earlier, he fears for her life. He does the only thing he can, abducts her and chains her in his pantry. It's a psychological romance thriller with paranormal activity (from the dead wife) and plenty of twists and turns in the plot.
