It’s about how a 22-year-old college graduate seeks to take back land that was stolen from his great-great-great grandfather over 140 years ago in early post-Reconstruction South. In present time, the land is owned by a giant privately owned grocery chain, which emanated from a dry goods store in the 1880s. The MC and his 19-year-old shy female companion try to outwit the grocery store chain CEO, who surrounds himself with a panoply of lawyers, security, and investigators.

I’d encourage aspiring writers to write something of which they have a deep passion. Once you have an idea of the type of story you’d like to write, ask yourself why you really want to write that story. In fact, write at least five reasons you want to write that story. And ask yourself what is the end goal for your story relative to your potential readership. Above all, patience is key - don’t rush your work.
