My third book, Love Can Be Scary was written with a boy starting middle school as the main character. I decided I would write a story with a girl starting high school as the main character for my fourth book.

My advice is to start by avoiding referencing other writer's books, actors, singers, films, or well-known songs in your story. I made that mistake with my first book out of pure ignorance of considerate writing etiquette. You don't want to start out as a writer by rubbing someone famous the wrong way simply because you didn't know any better. Even if it's an author that you really admire, I still wouldn't reference any of their books in your story. Other than that, let the creativity fly.

In my opinion, writers, artists, fashion designers, magazine publishers and anyone else, who creates something out of their imagination are pursuing the same instinctive impulse to be creative. It is just an opinion, but I strongly feel the human spirit and our sense of wellbeing thrives on being able to be creative. I feel when people are treated as though their creative ideas have no value, unhappiness will follow. People should never be discouraged from wanting to be creative. I think humans thrive on being permitted to be creative. Fictional writing is creating, and creating is awesome!!!

Rather than continue writing, I try to mentally imagine all the different directions I can take a story. It's almost like I mentally go down a list of possible scenarios until I find one that I think fits the story well.

That is a really good question. I would have to say the fictional world of Sherlock Holmes during the Victorian period in England. I love Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories about Sherlock Holmes. I would want to live the life of Sherlock Holmes. I've always felt Basil Rathbone was the perfect actor to portray Sherlock Holmes. I'd probably also want to look and talk just like Basil Rathbone for my life as Sherlock Holmes.

I would like to read the book, The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea written by Jane Linfoot.

The football season for schools and autumn coincide. I wanted to write a fictional story with a Halloween theme intertwined with a football theme.
