Hello, Mr. McDonald. I'm contacting the authors of books that I've recently read with my daughter Layla, to help her engage with the idea that books come from imagination. Our question to you is: How do you come up with an idea for a children's book? Thank you!

James McDonald My wife and I work on the books together and most all of our ideas come from our imagination. We'll be taking a walk and talking, and allow our conversations to wander off and be filled with imagination. From there, is where our books are born.
