I'm actually biracial and always felt caught between 2 worlds. I did try to change the story a little with Bark. Harper's story is different than mine but anyone who knows me from childhood knew right away where the story came from.
Fun fact. I made the story into a short film before turning into a book. I know that is so backwards lol. I feel more attached to the book because the reader can come to their own conclusions and visions vs. relying on actors to bring to life.
