Currently, I have a crime/murder/thriller/mystery doodad that is probably halfway done. I also have the starts of book 2 of The Darkness of Placata Montis if it's liked well enough. We shall see where life takes me.

Bringing to life the characters that make their way into my mind. Often times when I'm writing, I somewhat zone out. So when I go back to read my words, it's like a new story that I get to live in my present brain.

Typically, I walk away from whatever I'm blocked on. I've noticed if I have a deadline, I'm more inclined to push through it. But switching to other, unexpectant works is usually quite helpful and can lead to opening up new possibilities to the story I'm stuck on.

The only way to start is to start. It may not be good at first, but I promise with practice, it will get better. You will fall into a better flow, you will learn what makes other people excited to keep reading your words. You will fail. You will succeed. You will grow. There are several places I would love to travel to. That's one of the delightful things about books, they transform your reality into something better. Middle Earth is probably at the top of my list. The lush greenery, the range of different races, the desire for adventure in all its forms... Who wouldn't want to go there an just exist?

Honestly, I haven't really found that one thing that inspires me to write. Nature really allows me to clear my head, but it could be anything from a conversation with a friend to a really great book I've read or a TV show. Inspiration is all around, it's more a question of if I'm in the proper headspace to let it in.

My most recent book started as a series of texts with a friend. I was trying to be spoopy and mysterious, and somehow, the characters just started coming to life and ran off with the story.
