If you could have a choice to be an author or a cartoonist, what would you be?(even though you are already an author)
Jeff Kinney I think I'd be a cartoonist. I always wanted to be a newspaper cartoonist!

So just wondering how many books are going to be in the series? The reason I'm asking is because every November you come out with a new one and I'm keeping a hard time catching up on the books because of my schedule or the books I'm reading at the time. Just to say you are an amazing writer. You also inspired me to read.
Jeff Kinney I'm not sure how many more I will write, but I don't have a real end date in mind. I hope to keep writing for years!

My 10 year old discovered your books when he was 8, before that, he was a VERY reluctant reader. Since then, he has read each of your books at least twice, and he was among the first on the waiting list at the library for your last book. He was also the fourth in line when your Hard Luck van visited, to make sure to get a picture! Your books were the diving board he needed to dive into reading. Thank you Mr. Kinney!!

How many more Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are you planning to make
Jeff Kinney I don't plan on ending the series any time soon. I like the challenge of coming up with new material.

Jeff Kinney Thanks! I spent about four years just trying to remember everything funny that happened to me as a kid!

My eight year old thinks Greg and Roderick are role models and that Patty Farrell is a villian. Personally, I'd like to give Roderick a simultaneous swirly and wedgy. I predict Roderick will be living in that van in a few years. And poor Greg just has his priorities ALL out of order. What should I tell my boy?
Jeff Kinney I think you're right! That's the point of those characters... they are very flawed.

How do you start a book and push yourself to keep writing it? I constantly have this problem because I'll have an idea for a later chapter, but nothing for the in between chapters.
Jeff Kinney It's hard to stay motivated. It took me eight years to write my first book. I'm having the same problem you're having right now... filling in the spots between the big moments.

Jeff Kinney In some ways. There are bits and pieces of my family members in the characters.

How long will you keep working with Greg Heffley? Until middle/high school graduation?
Jeff Kinney I think Greg will be stuck in middle school forever. I don't have an end date in mind!
