Never throw away or delete a manuscript that receives harsh critiques. Put it away for a while, then look at it with fresh eyes when you bring it back out. It could become your masterpiece.
Find a writing group or two, or three to join. A critique group is a must. It helps you and your writing grow.
When completed, pay to have your work edited, and get a manuscript assessment. Both help you to hone it.
Ready for publishing? Research alll the options available to you. Do your homework well.
Have a webpage up and runnning well before publication.

Two sequels to A Big Blue Boat are with Lesley for illustrating. In the meantime, I am working on more sequels and some prequels.

With my husband, we sailed from Adelaide, Australia to Europe. When looking for stories about sailing for ages 4 to 8 for our grandchildren, I discovered there aren't that many out there - especially those for girls. The books were either imaginative or about people met in different countries. A Big Blue Boat and its upcoming sequels are about our experiences on the sea in the real big blue boat and present realististic storylines in a fun way.
