My inspiration to write Penelope’s Purple Passions evolved from a collection of past reflections I had written down on note pads, in my phone, in the shower, and during times of meditating. Whenever I was overwhelmed with the feelings in my head and in my heart about a past love that had not turned out as planned, I took to writing poetry as my way of freeing myself so to say. Poetry was my refuge, my happy place.I would jot thoughts down as they would come to me. Some days there would be an abundant overflow of what I wanted to say and other days just emotions with no words to follow.Poetry was a way to release what I had long kept bottled up. It was my way of releasing the genie out of the bottle and it felt wonderful.
