Jay VanLandingham I get up and walk away. Literally, going for a walk helps clear clogged membranes, which for me are what can cause writer's block. That and fear. Talking out the fear with a friend, journaling about it, and returning to the writing later. You've got to step away when blocks happen.
Jay VanLandingham I sit down and I do the work. There is nothing glorious or sexy about it. Once I commit 30 minutes or an hour of my day to writing and I sit down with a blank piece of paper, then the inspiration comes.
Jay VanLandingham I'd love to visit Middle-Earth in The Lord of the Rings series. Honestly anywhere in New Zealand where the movies were filmed. It's the closest we'll come in reality, right?
If I could visit the Shire I would probably do nothing. I'd want to just sit around, make friends, and enjoy nature.
Jay VanLandingham Octavia Butler's "Parable" series. I am chapters away from finishing the first book and wow...I am HOOKED!
Jay VanLandingham Whatever happened to my father...who disappeared to Florida thirty years ago and was never again found (this is mostly true, you decide which part isn't).
